Has there been one instance where Communism, once instituted as a viable government, hasn't been corrupted by greedy leaders? Marx had a lot of good ideas. But Socialism takes a lot of active participation by everyone concerned, all the time. Folks here in the U.S. get pissed about having to service their country by voting every two years. Our country's leaders have come to count on ignorance and apathy (in general), and a Pavlovian reaction (in particular) to "hot button issues". Good luck!

@niftyneek Because they're sold a negative image of the reality of America and are quick to believe it. Stephen Fry himself talked about this very issue in one of his interviews you can find somewhere here on youtube, he thinks this hate of America is all a bit childish really and I agree with him. :)

Brilliant - I was brought up on this stuff and it's still funny now. This sounds like most of the songs that come out of America! Love Fry and Laurie and now remember all the brilliant comedy duos of that decade... Comedy was so good back then
